Clean your Christmas Shower Curtains

This website allows you to find the best Christmas shower curtains on the market.

Shower curtains get dirty and need to be cleaned just like anything else in the bathroom.  Over time shower curtains will collect hard water and mineral deposits and will begin to develop a white substance on them unless you take action and clean them often.  So before you break out the old Christmas shower curtains, take these steps to clean them first.

There are many ways to wash your old Christmas shower curtains.  The best method to get them clean is the method that is easiest for you.  So figure out which one might be the most efficient choice for you and give it a shot.  All of these methods will work.

1:  Unhook the shower curtains from the rod and throw them in the clothes washer with a few other items.  Old towels or wash rags will work best.  Then throw a cup of bleach and your standard size of laundry detergent in with it.  Use hot water and run it on the lowest delicate setting possible.

To dry them, take them outside and shake off as much excess water as you can, then just set it back up to drip and air dry.

2)  Any type of bleach will work great.  Put some bleach in a spray bottle and spray the curtains down.  Over time all of the soap scum and mildew will vanish.

3)  Use the bath tub or utility sink to wash them in.  Just fill it up with warm water and add bleach and detergent.  Throw the old Christmas shower curtains in and let them soak for at least 2 or 3 hours.  A little salt will help in ridding some of the minerals as well.  Rinse off and then hang dry.

4)  Got a steam cleaner?  If you do, set your shower curtains on a flat surface and steam clean all of the dirt and grime right off.  It will run off best if you are able to set the curtains up so they are hanging and then gravity will aide in the cleaning process.

Be careful and use your best judgment as to which method to use.  You must keep in mind that certain materials may fade or shrink when washed in hot water, while others won’t.  If you’re not sure and don’t want to ruin your nice Christmas shower curtains, use the most delicate and careful method as possible.  Mild soap and room temperature or cold water may be your best choice.
